Project presentation
The CALICO project (Care and Living in Community) is an intergenerational grouped housing located in Forest, which comprises a total of 34 dwellings. These dwellings are organised according to the management of the three partner associations (CLTB, ANGELA D and PASS-AGES), and complement transit dwellings for homeless people managed by the CPAS of Forest. In addition to these dwellings, Calico also includes a birth and death centre, as well as a “place of links” managed by Rézone.
Throughout the project, special attention is paid to the issue of gender, health and care.
The role of Fair Ground Brussels
The land is a property of the Public Utility Foundation CLTB, which like Fair Ground guarantees the permanent accessibility of the housing in Brussels. Our cooperative is the owner of the 10 appartments, occupied by feminist habitation group. They are managed by AIS Logement pour Tous and inhabited by women members of the Angela D association which is committed to access to housing from a feminist perspective.
